2007 Cabernet Sauvignon
Pheasant Run Vineyards was established in the deep, sandy loam soils for which Walla Walla is famous. This Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of four separate blocks, each vinified separately, and carefully combined to create many-layered wine. The complex fruit and oak express black currant and cherry cola with cardamom and vanilla. The texture is full and big, typical of a quality Eastern Washington Cabernet, and will benefit from some cellar age.

2007 Inspired
Inspired by the great chateaus of St. Emillion in Bordeaux France, we set out to create the Washington State standard for a Merlot and Cab Franc blend.  Inspired is an aromatic wine, with black cherry, raspberry, and boysenberry notes.  The flavors of red berries, espresso, toasty oak and a touch of mint, add to the amazing complexity of this blend. Inspired is a big, full-bodied wine that is supported by rich tannins and will age gracefully for quite some time.

2007 Merriment
Merriment is Basel Cellars’ flagship, high-end blend. Every vintage, we walk our Estate vineyards and find the best block to blend together in our best barrels. This structured wine holds layers of dark fruit, balanced acidity, and toasty oak all on a backbone of supple tannins that deliver a rich and dense mouth feel.

2007 Pheasant Run Syrah
The Pheasant Run Syrah is a blend of different blocks throughout the vineyard that help create big, dark, fruit aromas of dried figs and cranberries, with cassis and vanilla notes.  The flavors showcase the dark fruit with spiced fruitcake and star anise.  The long, smooth finish has a chocolate-covered espresso bean character.

2008 Cab Franc
The Chelle Den Millie Cabernet Franc is one of the most sought after wines ever produced at Basel Cellars. With just 300 cases produced this wine is sure to sell out quickly, and is highly allocated outside the winery. The 2008 displays traditional Cabernet Franc characteristics with dark but juicy berry aromas including blackberry, blueberry, and plum. The fruit is folded together with piecrust and graham cracker flavors in the mouth and delivers a smooth, velvety mouthfeel.\u00a0 The finish lingers with dark spiced fruit.

2008 Claret
At Basel Cellars we are focused on producing small-lot, high quality wines at excellent value. We think the Basel Cellars Claret does just that.  The wine is a typical Bordeaux style blend consisting primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. It was aged for 18 months in mostly neutral oak allowing the high quality of the fruit to shine through. The nose displays dark cherry compote, layered with oaky, toasty, and leathery notes, and hints of pencil shavings.  The dark fruit carries over to the mouth and is joined by good acidity and a firm structure, with a long finish of mocha.

2008 Earth Series Vol 2
To celebrate the planet Earth we have created The Earth Series. Volume II in the series is a red blend containing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and a splash of Syrah. It starts off with penetrating aromas of ripe, robust fruit, including cherry, tobacco and licorice. The tannins are soft and silky, with flavors of boysenberry, caramel and chocolate.

2008 Merlot
The Estate Merlot is a very sought after wine and sells out quickly. Aged 18 months in 100% French Oak, this Merlot shows off elegant aromas dark stewed and dried fruits, pipe tobacco, and exotic spices.\u00a0 The mouth gives generous flavors of plum, blackberry, bruleed sugar, caramel, and mocha. The finish is deep and rich with long, smooth, silky tannins.

2008 Tempranillo
This Earthy, leathery Tempranillo is our first ever vintage at Basel Cellars. The nose offers aromas of wild mushrooms and smoked meats, layered with tart red berry characters of cranberry and pomegranate.\u00a0 The medium plus acidity on the palate carries the soft tannins and flavors of candied strawberries and violets.
